چکیده
Soil is a non-renewable resource essential for life existence. During the last decades it has been threatened by accelerating erosion with negative consequences environment and economy. The aim of current study was to assess soil loss changes in typical Mediterranean ecosystem Northern Greece, under climate change. To this end, freely available geospatial data collected processed using open-source software package. widespread RUSLE empirical model applied estimate loss. Current future rainfall erosivity were derived from national scale considering average weather conditions RCMs outputs medium Representative Concentration Pathway scenario (RCP4.5). Results showed that (R-Factor) 508.85 MJ mm ha h−1 y−1 while K-factor ranged 0.0008 0.05 t h ha−1 MJ−1 mm−1 LS-factor reached 60.51. Respectively, C-factor 0.01 0.91 P-factor 0.42 1. estimated potential rates will remain stable near period (2021–2050), an increase approximately 9% expected end 21th century (2071–2100). results suggest appropriate mitigation strategies should be reduce risk. Subsequently, measures per Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) categories are proposed. It worth noting proposed methodology high degree transferability as based on data.

Reviewing Soil Erosion in Greece
Mitigating soil erosion, especially in Mediterranean countries such as Greece, is essential in order to maintain environmental and agricultural sustainability. In this paper, scientific publications related to soil erosion studies in Greece were reviewed and categorized. To accomplish this, the online search engine of Scopus was used. The key words were “soil”, “erosion” and “Greece.” An analys...
متن کاملPredicting rainfall-runoff erosivity for single storms in northern Iraq
Estimation of soil loss from single storm events is essential for basin planning and nonpoint source pollution control. Rainfall-runoff erosivity factors for single storm events in northern Iraq were derived from the basic theory of soil detachment and transport. The factors derived are a single parameter which includes runoff depth only and a factor which combines runoff depth and peak rate. T...
متن کاملRainfall erosivity in Italy: a national scale spatio-temporal assessment
Soil erosion by water is a serious threat for the Mediterranean region. Raindrop impacts and consequent runoff generation are the main driving forces of this geomorphic process of soil degradation. The potential ability for rainfall to cause soil loss is expressed as rainfall erosivity, a key parameter required by most soil loss prediction models. In Italy, rainfall erosivity measurements are l...
